Game Overview
Powered by Microgaming, Pontoon is an exciting multi-hand Blackjack that allows you to play up to 3 simultaneous hands of Blackjack. A Sweet 16 bonus side game gives you the chance to win additional credits. Each hand plays only against the dealer (i.e. the bank), independently of other hands. Eight (8) decks of cards are used to play. Your goal as the player is to draw cards (i.e. hit) until your hand adds up to 21, or comes as close as possible without exceeding 21. If your first two cards total 21, you have Blackjack.
The Rules
If the total value of your cards is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win as much as you have wagered. If you have Pontoon (Blackjack), you win 2 to 1 (assuming the dealer does not also have Blackjack).
Aces count as either 1 or 11, dressed cards as 10, and remaining cards according to their number values.
If the total of your cards exceeds 21, you bust and lose your wager. Pontoon beats a score of 21. Dealer wins ties.
Pontoon is just like regular Blackjack except for the following:
- Hands are ranked as follows:
- A pontoon, which is defined as an ace and any 10-point card. Pontoons received after splitting count.
- A 5-card hand that has not busted. All 5-card tricks are of the same value; the point total does not matter.
- A non-busted hand (21 points or fewer), with 4 or fewer cards. Hands are ranked within this group according to the total number of points.
- A busted hand (more than 21 points).
- The player may stand on any total greater than or equal to 15, and will automatically stand on any 5-card hand.
- The player may hit at any point, including after doubling.
- The player may double on 2 to 4 cards, but only once per hand. This option includes after splitting, and once for each split hand. The player may not resplit a split hand.
- Winning player pontoon or 5-card hand pays 2:1. All other player wins pay 1:1.
- Dealer hits soft 17 and stops with any 5-card hand.
Betting
The player places a bet by placing the cursor on the desired chip and clicking with the left mouse button. The wagered chip will appear in the betting box on the Blackjack table. The player can retract a bet before the game begins by clicking on the wagered chip with the right mouse button.
Betting Limits
The minimum wager in Pontoon is 1.00, and the maximum wager is 100.00.
